PC based EEG

Solution:

Several analog input channels were required to record different bio-signals. A high speed trigger input was crucial for the success of this project. A National Instruments DAQ board NI-6031E was used together with a terminal box to provide for the proper connection from the bio-amplifier. A user interface was then programmed using LabView 6i, running on a Pentium class PC with WIN 2000 operating system.

Additional Features:

For research purposes a precisely triggered stimulus output was requied as well. In order to trigger a reaction or relfex of the person in the MRI Scanner at a specific time, a programmable output signal was implemented as well. This output stimulus had to be synchronized with the exact location of the MRI Scanner, in order to be able to examine certain regions of the brain, after the stimulus had been triggered.
